Job summary: Experienced in mangrove management and restoration, community-based ecology, and productivity. Responsible for social impact assessment and program preparation.
- Support the preparation, data collection of social impact assessment for each site to be proposed in the mangrove program
- Review background documents and conduct provincial consultations with the TWGs
- Prepare a work plan for each TWG/IMW Group
- Supporting contracting for drone mapping and RS of mangrove lands for field TWG teams
- Lead affected community awareness and consultation on the implementation of mangrove mapping
- Provide a copy of the relevant mangrove map for each ecosystem linked to each CFI and consult with members
- Supervise SOP implementation on Mangrove demarcation including Provincial District, Commune and CFI memberships
- Conduct screening activity for IR and IP impacts
- Conduct briefing and planning meeting with provincial working group
- Work with communes, community leaders and community members based on priority areas for mangrove restoration
- Assist the third independent party for program’s evaluation and monitoring.
- Conduct screening activity for IR, IP impacts, and community engagement, awareness consultation on the CPP agreements
- Provide technical support for nursery planning, establishment, and production
- Oversee CPP program through working with CFI leaders to manage mangrove planting programs along with FIAC
- A graduate qualification in coastal ecology or community forestry
- 10 years’ experience on mangrove management and restoration programs and 5 years of proven experience in mangrove interventions
- Good understanding community-based mangrove ecology and productivity
- Good knowledge of awareness on mangrove species within Cambodia
- Ability to work with CSO/NGO partners
- The experts will be posted in Phnom Penh but with most of the time in the four coastal provinces
- Good command of Khmer and English.
