The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”), a non-aligned, independent, and non-governmental organization that works to promote and protect democracy and respect for human rights – primarily civil and political rights – throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia, is seeking a dynamic and professional Cambodian to fill the following position for “the Protecting Fundamental Freedoms, Land and Natural Resources in Cambodia Project” (“PFFLN”) based in Phnom Penh for a period from November 2023 to September 2028.
Position: Project Officer
Salary: Level 4 (Grade 1 to Grade 3) gross per month depending on relevant background, experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field monitoring and media monitoring of violations on fundamental freedoms, land rights, and natural resources;
- Assist the project coordinator in developing written and multimedia information, training materials, and other publications;
- Document, monitor and update all case supports provided by the project and coordinate cases with the project beneficiaries;
- Conduct the project’s trainings, and provide technical supports for community’s cascade trainings;
- Organize the project events including meetings, workshops, legal and well-being sessions and camps;
- Organize and facilitate the project’s radio talk shows;
- Assist the project coordinator in preparing narrative reports to Donors;
- Provide support on translation of project’s publication; and
- Complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor/organization.
Requirements
- University degree (or equivalent) in law, human rights, social sciences, development or a related field;
- Two years of experience in conducting training on land right and advocacy, and human rights related issues;
- Experience in developing training materials and coordinating case supports with the community
- Experience in organizing events including workshops, meetings etc.
- Knowledge of the human rights law especially on land rights and international instruments;
- Strong interpersonal skill and ability to work under pressure on challenging and sensitive issue;
- Constructive team work capacities;
- Proven ability to produce concise written reports;
- Good written and spoken Khmer and English; and
- Good computer skills (MS. Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and Email).
