The British Academy Siem Reap is a new international school which follows the British National Curriculum. We are about to enter our second year, when we will have approximately 20 children on roll, aged 2 – 11, of Cambodian or mixed nationality. As we now need to divide our pupils into two classes, a kindergarten and a primary, and will also be introducing Khmer and Mandarin Chinese into our timetable, we intend to make appointments to the following positions.
Kindergarten Teacher
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be entrusted with the teaching of the Early Years Foundation Stage of the British National Curriculum to the kindergarten group, assessing their progress and reporting accordingly. Co-ordinating with the Principal, who will be taking charge of the primary class, will also be required. An assistant teacher, competent in both Khmer and English, will be available at all times. Further duties will include awareness and reinforcement of school practice regarding discipline and pupil welfare.
Requirements
We are looking to appoint an English native speaker initially on a contract to 30th June, 2018 with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any subject. A teaching qualification is desirable, as is experience of instructing young children in the English medium, particularly within the British National Curriculum. It is anticipated that we will appoint a female candidate, but all applicants will be considered on merit. The salary offered will be negotiable, but will be at least $1,000 a month. A probationary period must be served.
