Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program Assistant with regular travel to field (4 positions based in Pursat and Kampong Chhnang province)
The Purpose of the Role
The ECCD Program Assistant will provide day to day support to the Program Officers in the implementation of the ECCD for Floating Villages project activities. The post holder will ensure high quality project implementation, and compliance with the Operations Manual of JSDF/World Bank and SCI rules and regulations. Moreover, the Program Assistant will ensure the project’s expected outputs and outcomes are delivered effectively and efficiently, producing impacts on target children in an accountable and sustainable way.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- At least Bachelor’s Degree in related fields (preferably in education);
- Some experience in management of programme/projects;
- Good understanding of education in Cambodia, particularly in policies, guidelines, curriculum, systems, teaching methodology, and materials for ECCD;
- A minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience in education, especially ECCD or other equivalent work;
- Strong community mobilization skills;
- Good interpersonal, proactive and dynamic communication skills;
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office;
- Motorcycle driving licence is needed;
- Ability and willingness to travel in the floating village and rural communities.
- Willingness to abide by SCI’s Child Safe Guarding/Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Long-term experience in working in ECCD using multiple approaches;
- Strong coordination, facilitation and presentation skills will be considered a definite advantage;
- Minimum 1-year experience in assistance projects related to ECCD or Basic Education;
- Good experience in working with local government and NGOs partners.

ROLE PURPOSE:

SCOPE OF
ROLE:
Reports to: ECCD for Floating Villages Consultant (Project Officer)
Dimensions: The
Program Assistant will work closely with the Provincial and District Departments
of Education, Youth and Sport, schools, Commune Councils, Commune Committees
for Women and Children at commune level, Women’s and Children’s Consultative
Committees at district level, community people and the education team of Save
the Children to deliver results to children. The project covers multiple districts
so it is necessary for the post holder to travel extensively to the target
schools, communities and ECCD Resource Centres.
