The Program
Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships funded by the Australian Government offering the next generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. The Australia Awards Cambodia are designed to promote knowledge, education links and enduring ties between Australia, Cambodia and the global community, targeting study areas that support local development priorities. Recipients return with the skills and knowledge to drive change and support Cambodia’s development goals.
The Position
This role will take on the focus of building relationships with Royal Government of Cambodia ministries, public and private sector agencies to target, prioritise and support selection of Australia Awards Cambodia candidates. The position will support the development and implementation of strategies for promotion, targeting and selection; advising and supporting awardees (and employers, where possible) to strengthen awardees’ reintegration to the workforce and their utilisation of their new skills and knowledge; and provision of multi-year pathways for women, people with disability and provincial candidates to increase opportunity for access to Australia Awards.
The Person
The person we are looking for will have a post-graduate qualification relevant to human resource development (HRD), with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a senior HRD role applied in large organisations, preferably in a public or private sector environment. The ideal candidate will have practical experience working on a scholarship program with knowledge of Australian higher education and training frameworks; knowledge of HRD capacity building approaches, developing and implementing approaches to address gender, disadvantage and disability issues, in developing countries (preferably Cambodia or similar).
