IDP Education (Cambodia) has multiple business streams including English language teaching through its school, the Australian Centre for Education (ACE) operated on three campuses in Phnom Penh and one in Siem Reap, the management of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), provision of study abroad counselling services, scholarship program management, and conferences and exhibitions management.
IDP is seeking suitably qualified applicants (Cambodian or non-Cambodian) for the position of Business Development Manager.
The primary duty of the Business Development Manager is to promote all IDP business streams e.g. English language teaching, study abroad student placement, IELTS and examination services, CamTESOL, exhibitions in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and the relevant business heads (e.g. the ACE Principal for ELT, Chief Counsellor for study abroad placement, IELTS Manager for IELTS/testing services), design, develop and implement strategies to attract, develop, and grow new business opportunities for IDP/ACE
ROLE OF THE POSITION

ROLE OF THE POSITION
- Develop and implement strategies to support and further the growth of all business streams.
- Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of emerging market trends and opportunities to increase the commercial, industry partnerships and fee-for-service activities of the IDP/ACE.
- Liaise with relevant staff as part of the development of new businesses or training initiatives
- Provide reports on activities in a detailed and timely manner.
- Build positive relationships with internal and external groups to support the development of business activities
- Evaluate the suitability of business development opportunities, and prepare quality responses including proposals, tenders and expressions of interest appropriate to the capability of the company.
- In conjunction with ACE Principal, develop and implement high quality, industry relevant and commercially viable short courses in line with the strategic objectives and income targets.
- Liaise with HR and Finance Departments to manage the budgeting of activities and new businesses
- Ensure that all business development activities comply with IDP/ACEpolicies and procedures.
- Ensure oversight of a transparent system of information archiving relating to contacts / briefings-concept notes / minutes of meetings / graphics / training materials etc
- Provide internal training / delegating responsibilities to key junior staff members / departments as appropriate
- Non-Cambodian or Cambodian with an appropriate tertiary qualification together with significant experience in business development in an education setting or relevant area
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and problem solving skills illustrated by the ability to work with minimal supervision, to be creative and, successfully arrange priorities, meet deadlines and continually improve operational strategies
- Highly-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to be professional, tactful, discrete and courteous at all times.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate new business opportunities and capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of groups within, and external to, the Institute.
- Proven initiative and problem solving skills and ability to organize, plan and manage complex tasks utilising effective management principles of working to deadlines, planning, resource allocation, communication, implementation, evaluation and reporting.
- Sound financial planning and management skills including commercial contracts, project proposal and tender preparation skills.
