Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) is a non-profit organization, established in Cambodia in 1995, working to provide food, shelter, medical care, general education and vocational training to children needing support, e.g. underprivileged children; maltreated children; children living in poverty and children without any formal education. PSE has more than 600 employees and provides help to more than 6,500 children in Phnom Penh, Preah Sihanouk and Siem Reap. PSE is seeking competitive and capable candidates to fill 01 positions of Pedagogy Coordinator based in Phnom Penh.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement yearly action plan of secondary school pedagogy in catching up program;
- Define and assign work objectives and tasks for each secondary school teacher and evaluate their work performance;
- Lead, train and encourage secondary school teachers to build and apply knowledge and skills of student center pedagogy towards PSE secondary school students;
- Participate and control test and semester exam paper and advise if necessary to ensure both exam paper and exam administration meet PSE's quality and standard;
- Follow up monthly score report and study progress of students from each teacher and analyze the actual result against the expected result and then provide feedback and comment accordingly;
- Study and assess each subject (Khmer, Math, Social Studies, …) of all secondary school levels and propose any ideas for improvement or change if necessary;
- Conduct a regular classroom observation a long with constructive feedback to each teacher;
- Assist and share experiences to deal with various issues: pedagogy, student disciplines and others alike;
- Teach secondary school students 10 hours per week;
- Communicate and build a good relationship with both internal staff and other NGO partners;
- Write a report for manager.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Secondary School Pedagogy Certificate or other similar degrees;
- Bachelor of education is a plus;
- Experiences in pedagogy technical assistance or management or course development;
- Some experiences in teaching secondary school level;
- Strong knowledge and experiences of student center methodology;
- Good at planning and inspiring staff to accomplish tasks provided;
- Be good at communication and analytical skills
- Be initiative, committed, autonomous and well-organized;
- IT literate;
- Be able to communicate in English (French is a plus);
- Respect and support PSE’s values and mission.
