Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) is a non-profit organization, established at the end of 1995 in Cambodia, working to provide food, shelter, medical care, general education and vocational training to children needing support, e.g. underprivileged children; maltreated children; children living in poverty and children without any formal education in Phnom Penh, Preahsihanouk and Siem Reap. Currently PSE is providing help to more than 6,500 children, supporting around 3,000 children in public schools, 1,500 in the remedial education program, and 1,500 in the vocational training program. Around 500 children benefit from specific educational programs: classes for children with disability, day-care centers, infant welfare, etc. PSE employs more than 600 dedicated staff. Due to rapid growth of existing and new programs, PSE is seeking candidates to fill the position of Graphic Designer based in Phnom Penh.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
• Uses computer software to generate new images.
• Marks up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer.
• Draws and prints charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork, using computer.
• Reviews final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
• Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Participates actively in the organization of fundraising or other events promoted by PSE .
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic design or communications science.
• At least 2-year experience as a graphic designer.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Coral Draw, etc…), and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Knowledge of the theory and techniques required to compose, produce, and perform works of visual arts.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of Khmer and English, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of French is an asset.
