Following the inaugural “EU Science: Global Challenges, Global
Collaboration” (ES:GC2 ) conference, held on 4-8 March 2013 at the
European Parliament in Brussels under the aegis of the Irish Council
Presidency, ISC is organising the next ES:GC2 conference to be held in
March 2015 in Brussels.
ES:GC2 2015 will build on the themes of the 2013 conference and will advance key themes of global science collaboration, including topics such as Health, ICT, Security, Space, Infrastructure and Capacity, Science Policy, and Regulations and Global Governance. Global collaborative science can best support the response to global challenges, which are transnational in nature and trans-institutional in solution. They require collaborative action among governments, international organisations, corporations, universities and NGOs, and a favourable policy, regulatory, standards and funding environment.

The conference will provide a platform for a structured dialogue and
networking opportunities for individuals and teams engaged in
cutting-edge research; draw attention to the regulatory, policy and
funding environment required for high-impact global research and
development; and increase international participation in Horizon 2020.
