Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) is a non-profit organization, established at the end of 1995 in Cambodia, working to provide food, shelter, medical care, general education and vocational training to destitute, maltreated, abused and uneducated children in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap.
Currently PSE is providing help to more than 6,500 children, supporting around 3,000 children in public schools, 1,500 in the remedial education program, and 1,500 in the vocational training program. Around 500 children benefit from specific educational programs: classes for children with a disability, day-care centers, infant welfare etc.
PSE employs more than 500 dedicated staff. Due to rapid growth of existing and new programs, PSE is seeking for a potential candidate for a vacant position of Part-time Chinese Teacher (02 posts), based in Phnom Penh.
Responsibilities
The Part-time Chinese Teacher will be expected work in 3 main purposes:
Education
- Train business school students in Chinese language focusing on conversation.
- Prepare teaching plan required by school guideline.
- Join class council to evaluate student’s study progress.
- Control student discipline and morality such as absence, lateness, uniform, haircut, language and attitude.
Program development
- Upgrade course content, resources, case study, assignment, lessons and syllabus.
- Work in specializing team to share good knowledge and experience in order to develop the school curriculum and improve the quality of training.
- Cooperatively join pedagogy training with language teacher team or business school management team upon required.
Communication
- Use internal communication tools such as information board, e-mail, white board, telephone, message, etc. as much as possible for everyday work.
- Frequently meet immediate manager as per schedule set.
- Work with academic manager to deal with student discipline.
Requirements
- Diploma of Chinese proficiency.
- Minimum one year experiences in teaching.
- Possess a strong personality of presentation, communication and initiative
- Sound knowledge of Ms. Word & Excel, or Ms. PowerPoint
- Be able to act as role model for students and promote a team dynamics
