AIMS:
  • To enable the participants to write and present information clearly in a way to create the maximum impact on the reader.
  • To enable the participants to become more interested in and enjoy writing reports with good quality and save time.

WRITING THE INTRODUCTION

-Apply the components and  principles of the introduction on:


a) background: past activities


b) objectives: what the report will be discussed

c) scope: what to include and exclude
-Identify the necessary and relevant information

-Read two samples of introduction and indicate the components and  principles on:

a) “background” and indicate past activities.

b) “objectives” and predict what the report will be about.

c) “scope” and identify the limitation of information
-Indicate the important information

WRITING THE INTRODUCTION

-Apply the concepts of the introduction


-Practise writing an introduction section cover 3 components:

a) Background
b) Objectives
c) Scope

-Indicate the information that helps the reader understand and increases interest

-Read 4 different findings and write the introduction section:

1) “Access to Basic Education in Cambodia”

WRITING THE CONCLUSION

-Apply the two principles of conclusions on:
a) summarizing the main findings
b) making logical deductions


-Apply the concepts of conclusion




-Read two samples of conclusion and identify both:
a) summarizing the main findings.

b) making logical deductions with connective words

-Read samples of conclusion and indicate the main points for busy manager

-Read 4 short samples of
 report and practice writing conclusions

a) summarizing the main findings;

b) making logical deductions


-Read the 4 different findings and write the conclusion section:

3) “Problem with a Village Leader on the Site of the New Well”

4) “Staff Assessment”

WRITING THE RECOMMENDATIONS

-Apply the three principles of recommendations on:

a) concisely; b) clearly; c) precisely

-Apply two ways of using punctuation,
a) Use the colon (:) and semi-colon (;) and lower case with - “it is recommended that:.. 

b) Use full stop (.) and capital letter with “should”  - the following measures are recommended.
-Apply the concepts of recommendations

-Write recommendations
-Read two samples of recommendations and indicate the following features:
 Concisely, clearly and precisely;




Using colon (:) semi-colon (;),



Using full stop with complete sentence


-Indicate the suggestions to make sound decision

TRAINER’S PROFILE
Mr. Meng Seng Heng
Mr. Meng attended English training of trainers conducted at US Embassy in Phnom Penh, Training of Teaching and Learning English trough ICT organized by UNESCO/JFIT at Faculty of Pedagogy Phnom Penh, Training of Master trainers programmes, Training of Trainers (ToT) course of Training Delivery Skills on Business Edge programmes at Imperial Garden Hotel and Sunway Hotel, Phnom Penh organized by Mekong Private Development
Facility (MPDF).

He conducted CamTESOL courses on Reading Skills, Giving Instructions, Methodology Corner, Self-Assessment of Teaching the English Language, Typical Standard of Presentation Practice and Production Lesson Plan and Design English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Courses Syllabus organized by Cambodian TESOL at National Institute of Education (NIE), Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), Pannasatra University, Phnom Penh and Hotel Inter-Continental Phnom Penh.

For his employment and training courses, he has worked as a trainer delivering various skills such as Communication Interpersonal Skill , Team Building skills, Presentation Skills, Quality Control of TB Laboratory Network, Report Writing Skills, Effective Management Skills, Quality Selling & Service Handling skill, Supervisory Skills/Delegating Effectively, Time Management Skills, Business letter writing skills,
