The role of MRC is to co-ordinate and promote co-operation in all fields of sustainable development, utilization, management and conservation of the water and related resources of the Mekong Basin.
The incumbent of the position is responsible for the Secretariat’s human resources management and development and for the implementation and/or co-ordination of training programmes including the overall management of the Capacity Building Programme. The incumbent in particular will play a key role in the riparianisation process of the Secretariat through developing processes to strengthen the capacity of the staff and by adapting the relevant MRC procedures to assist the riparianisation process.
