The Community Legal Education Center (CLEC) is a Cambodian non-governmental organization working to develop the rule of law and democracy in Cambodia by building a sense of legal awareness and empowerment, co-operating with human rights and development organizations, capacity building of various target groups and engaging in policy debate and advocacy work to improve Cambodia's legal framework. The CLEC currently is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions in its Labor Program: Project Officers (2 positions).
Labor Program (LP) is one of the four Programs of CLEC, working on issues relating to Cambodian labor law and industrial relations since 2002. The LP objectives are to secure the rule of labor law, a healthy working environment for all employees, and the peaceful and fair resolution of labor disputes. The LP’s primary tool to realize these objectives is educating key stakeholders in Cambodia's employment sector through trainings, mediation and publications. Through these activities, the LP is able to develop workers’ capacity to independently advocate for their own rights. Because of the LP’s expertise on labor standards, the LP has been awarded monitoring contracts with global textile companies such as Nike and Reebok.

NEED:
- At least Bachelor’s degree in law.
- Understanding of Cambodian legal system and legal advocacy.
- Prior experience in the field of Legal Research, Publication, and Literacy.
- Experience in advocacy campaigns and/or training activities.
- Prior experience translating and interpreting between English and Khmer.
- Computer literacy, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of English.
JD:
- Support project activities, including legal research and writing, and legal advocacy activities.
- Support attorneys and LP Team Members in daily works.
- Join in the preparation of work plans, reports and monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide training to grass root people, NGOs and government officials.
- Survey citizen attitudes on the effectiveness of the legal system.
- Network with stakeholders.
- Translate legal documents.
