NEED:
- Degree in Agriculture and Rural Development or closely related discipline
- Minimum two years overseas work experience with a Food Security or Livelihood Security Programme
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Project/Programme Manager with an International NGO
- Strong co-ordination skills
- Previous budget management experience
- Ability to support, manage and develop national staff
- Experience in working with communities including the use of PRA/PLA skills
- Excellent analytical, report writing and budgeting skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, tact, diplomacy
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, spoken and written
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Programmes
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES
- Post graduate qualifications in management or related field
- Good proposal writing skills
- Previous overseas work in South-East Asia
WORK CONTEXT
Cesvi has been working in Myanmar since July 2001.Currently Cesvi is working in Mandalay Division and in Shan State carrying out operations in health sector. The purpose is to provide assistance to improve the health care for local people by promoting accessibility to early diagnosis and prompt treatment of malaria cases, by reducing malaria transmission through vector control and personal prevention increasing awareness of grassroots community.
JD:- The collaboration will start on August 1st, 2007
- The main duty station will be Mandalay Division
- The person will respond to the HQs Desk Officer
- Develop and manage the Cesvi Food Security project in Myanmar
- Manage all resources (human, financial and material) within organizational parameters
- Ensure that project objectives are met
- Coordinate, plan and schedule project equipment and supply needs
- Undertake regular visits to each activity location to gain a clear understanding of projects conditions, requirements, and constraints
- Assist with the execution of the current project, ensuring that appropriate accountability mechanisms are followed
- Prepare project proposals and reports as required, in a timely manner
- Provide technical support and advice to project staff, particularly in relation to food security issues
- Supervise and support national staff
- Assist staff in setting clear work goals and objectives
- Represent Cesvi at district level with stakeholders, local authorities, and NGO’s with respect to the Food Security Programme
- Participate in relevant external meetings and workshops in the FS sector
- Promote alliances, exchange of information and lessons learnt
