FINCA International, a leading global network of microfinance institutions providing loans to over 500,000 entrepreneurs in 21 countries, has excellent opportunities to grow some of the world's most challenging and rewarding markets. Currently FINCA is looking for a Paralegal to work closely with and assist the General Counsel and the attorneys of FINCA International’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) with various legal and administrative duties for FINCA International HQ and field operations. His/her tasks will include (but will not be limited to):
Assistance to General Counsel and Attorneys with Legal Issues in preparing corporate documents, maintaining corporate records, ensuring that 21 (and growing) overseas affiliates follow corporate requirements, conducting basic legal research, creating closing binders, proofreading and organizing legal documents, legalizing documentation to be sent abroad, assisting with the registration of trademarks, periodically updating organizational charts and reports,
Project Management and Coordination of Interns and Volunteers: assisting in allocating pro bono resources and maintaining a list of projects for which pro bono counsel provides assistance, serving as a point of contact for law schools and coordinating internship/externship programs, coordinating the projects assigned to volunteers, interns and/or externs, serving as a point of contact for applicants to internship/volunteer positions,
Administrative Assistance: maintaining a centralized filing system covering FINCA headquarters and all FINCA affiliates, drafting correspondence and communicating with overseas affiliates, maintaining OGC’s budget and recording budget variances, processing invoices, preparing expense reports, setting up travel arrangements, coordinating meetings and conference calls.
NEED:
- BA/BS degree, Paralegal certificate preferred
- A minimum of three years of paralegal experience or equivalent,
- Experience in corporate governance, financial and international environment preferred,
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities,
- Excellent written and oral communication skills,- Excellent organizational skills and initiative,
- Affinity for a fast-paced and multicultural environment,- Spanish and/or Russian fluency is a plus.
