Internews Network is currently seeking a Chief of Party to lead a community radio and media development program in Haiti. Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Provide leadership and direction for the implementation of the program, ensuring program development goals are met
- Work closely with in-country media and civil society partners to assess local media needs and design programmatic approaches to address those needs
- Oversee program monitoring and evaluation plan to ensure project meets development objectives
- Prepare proposals/reports/budgets (write, edit, proof, revise) and provide regular briefings and reports to USAID on media issues
- Responsible for local staff development and overall office management
- Provide final oversight of in-country expenditures
- Represent Internews at conferences and events
NEED:
- Minimum of 7 years experience programmatic and project management experience
- Experience as a working journalist, community radio experience strongly preferred
- Media management and editorial experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of the technical, political and social aspects of Haitian media
- Experience managing US Government development projects strongly preferred
- Proven interpersonal and networking skills with international organizations and donors
- Team-building skills and the ability to manage a diverse staff
- Project and budget management experience
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple on-going assignments
- Experience with staff development and office management
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation of programs
- Relevant degree
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office suite
- Native-level English as well as local language skills (Haitian Creole preferred, French required)
