SOVANN PHOUM (SP), one of the Cambodian NGO established in 2000, invites qualified Cambodian candidates to apply for the position of Executive Director. SP’s Board of Directors wishes to identify in good time an effective successor to ensure a smooth transition. The successful candidate should be a mature, dynamic and visionary leader. Ideally, s/he will be willing to make a long-term commitment to Cambodia’s development.

SP vision is to see disadvantaged Cambodian citizen especially women and children get the opportunity to increase knowledge to promote their health and to improve the living condition of disadvantaged families, with special attention to women and children, by providing advices, abilities and supports in health, education and economy to communities through health education, non formal education, sanitation/water,, vocational training and micro credit projects. These activities have been carried out in rural and urban areas.

Need:

• Cambodian nationality
  
• Bachelor or master degree of Social Sciences or Management.
  
• Proven leadership and fund raising abilities to support SP program.
  
• Substantial prior management experience with non-profit organization.
  
• Creativity, flexibility and imagination in designing and implementing projects
  
• Ability to build effective teams and motivate staff
  
• Familiarity with economic and social development issues in Cambodia
  
• Familiarity with major international development institutions and key bilateral donors
  
• Ability to represent SP and to communicate effectively, in writing and orally, with a broad range of stakeholders.

The job is a full-time post, based in Phnom Penh but needed some travels to target areas projects in provinces. The on year contract is renewable and starting from 1 July 2007.
