We offer limited opportunities for visiting researchers, postdoctoral
researchers and faculty on sabbaticals to bring their expertise,
curiosity and creativity to Facebook to work with our research teams on
significant projects.
Applications and proposals are accepted for recognized experts in
research areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning,
computational statistics, and applied mathematics, particularly
including areas such as deep learning, graphical models, reinforcement
learning, computer perception, natural language processing and data
representation. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in producing
new science to understand intelligence and technology and will join
research teams to actively contribute to ongoing projects. Term is
determined on a case-by-case basis and requires sponsorship from a
Facebook research team.
Postdoc Opportunities
Limited postdoc opportunities are offered at Facebook.
CommAI Visiting Researcher Program
CommAI is an ambitious FAIR project to develop a new generation of intelligent systems that are able to quickly adapt to an endless streams of new tasks through communication.
The CommAI visiting researcher program is sponsored by Facebook AI Research (FAIR) and Facebook Research. The program offers invitations to AI researchers from universities and research labs to visit FAIR for 1 to 4 months, to collaborate on topics related to the CommAI project.
Visiting researchers will interact with researchers in the CommAI team and FAIR at large, designing novel machine learning architectures and ways to evaluate them. Outcomes of a visit might include (but not limited to) shared publications, establishing long-term collaborations, and development of open-source code.
Candidates must have a good publication record in fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational or theoretical linguistics, computer vision, cognitive (neuro-) science or applied mathematics. Most importantly, they should have a strong interest in non-incremental approaches to addressing general AI. Women and researchers from under-represented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
Facebook AI Research Residency Program
The Facebook AI Research (FAIR) Residency Program is a one-year research training program with Facebook’s AI Research group, designed to give you hands-on experience of machine learning research.
