Rothamsted International (RI) is a not-for-profit initiative supporting early career researchers from low- and middle-income countries to train with world-class scientists in the UK, using state of the art facilities and skills to find solutions to some of the major challenges affecting food production and agricultural sustainability in their home countries.
RI fellowships provide specialist training, but also lay the foundation for long-term international partnerships and in many cases, contribute to the successful careers of the RI fellows in their home countries. The case studies here highlight just a few of our thriving alumni.
The Rothamsted International Fellowship scheme:
The Rothamsted International Fellowship Scheme (RIFS) supports scientists from developing countries to train at selected research institutes in the UK for 6-12 months working on a research project they develop jointly with an academic supervisor.
Fellowships with Rothamsted scientists based at the North Wyke or Harpenden Campus.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the 2021 call for the RI Fellowship scheme has been cancelled. The next call will be launched in the Summer of 2022 and details will be posted here and on social media.
