Kiva fellows are based in 60+ countries throughout the developing world. That means there’s quite a bit of possibility when it comes to where you’ll be. We encourage you to apply wherever your skills and interests lie. Just keep in mind we might feel you’re a better fit elsewhere. We’ll talk through everything in the interview process though, so don’t worry.
Wherever you end up, you’ll get around quite a bit. You’ll have a “home base,” but fellows typically work with several field partners in multiple countries. It’s a chance to grow, and a chance to explore.

Kiva Fellowships:
Kiva Fellows Application:
Our Kiva Fellows Program has two cohorts a year. One fellow cohort starts in early February and ends in late July of that same year. The second fellow cohort starts in late July and ends in late January the following year.
No current applications open at this time? Sign up here to be notified via email when recruiting for our fellowship positions begins.
Minimum requirements:
Kiva fellows must be 21 years of age by the start of training week. You must be able to legally travel to the U.S. for the week-long training program. You must also be fluent in English and any specific languages listed in the job description. No need to bring any of your own tools or equipment; Kiva will provide you with a laptop to use during training week and your time in the field.
Can I apply for a fellowship if I’m not a U.S. citizen?
We highly value an international culture at Kiva and encourage international applicants to apply. However, fellows are responsible for obtaining the necessary visa requirements independently, both for attendance at training week in San Francisco, and/or for their host country or countries.
