Welcome to Emerald Master’s Programme in Resources Engineering:
EMerald is an Erasmus Mundus and EIT-labelled Master’s programme created to establish the right balance between knowledge of resources and process-engineering techniques.

The EMerald programme has received the EIT Label, a quality seal awarded to top Master and PhD programmes that excel in shaping a new generation of students into game changers and innovators.
Erasmus + Erasmus Mundus Grants (full grants):
If you have already benefited from an EMJMD scholarship or an Erasmus Mundus Master course scholarship, you can apply to the EMerald Master Programme but you cannot apply for the Erasmus + scholarship.
Erasmus + divides the scholarship holders into two categories:
- Students from Partner Countries (non-EU countries)
- Students from Programme Countries (EU countries+ Norway+ Turkey+ Iceland+ Liechtenstein+ Macedonia).
75% of the scholarships will be granted to students of a partner country. All students are allowed to apply to a maximum of 3 EMJMD programmes.
This scholarship includes three different contributions, as detailed below:
I. Contribution to the participation costs:
The contribution to the participation costs includes the following:
- Registration fees.
- Management fees (including laboratory expenses, supervision and running costs etc.).
- Health and accident insurance coverage.
- Access to the universities’ infrastructure (libraries, WIFI, etc.).
- Assistance from the international office at each University regarding administrative matters, accommodation, bank account, etc.
Contribution to the participation costs EUR 4,500 per year per programme country scholarship holder.
EUR 9,000 per year per Partner Country scholarship holder.
II. Contribution to travel and installation costs
The contribution to travel and installation costs takes into account ONLY the residence of the scholarship holder (regardless of the category under which the student has been enrolled).
EUR 1,000 per year per scholarship holder resident of a Programme Country for travel costs
EUR 2,000 per year for travel costs + EUR 1,000 for installation costs for scholarship holders resident of a Partner Country which is situated less than 4,000 km from the coordinating institution
EUR 3,000 per year for travel costs + EUR 1,000 for installation costs for scholarship holders resident in a Partner Country which is situated 4,000 km or more from the coordinating institution.
III. Contribution to subsistence costs
There is a contribution to subsistence costs (for both Programme and Partner Country scholarship holders) of EUR 1,000 per month for the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme (24 months maximum).
A contribution to subsistence costs may not be given to:
- Scholarship holders for the EMJMD periods (study /research /placement /thesis preparation) spent in their country of residence.
- Partner Country scholarship holders for the EMJMD periods exceeding three months (indicatively the equivalent of 15 ECTS) spent in any Partner Country.
