The ALGANT Master Programme was launched in 2005 with the support of the Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Commission. Throughout the years, the programme has distinguished itself in excellence and is known all over the world.
Since its launch in 2005, the ALGANT Master Programme admitted more than 200 students, from over 30 countries as diverse as Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Peru, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United States of America, Venezuela, Vietnam.
All students with a bachelor in Mathematics or an equivalent academic study of at least 3 years with a special focus on Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory are eligible to apply for a scholarship. The selection of scholarship students is based on academic merit. Moreover, students that need help covering the tuition fees can apply for the ALExS programme (see hereunder).
The amount of the scholarship is based on academic merit. Applicants will receive a personal offer upon selection. The scholarship can imply a specific mobility scheme.
The tuition fee for the ALGANT Master Programme is €4000 a year. Students that need help to cover the tuition fees can apply for the ALExS programme, see next question.
The ALGANT Excellence Scholarship programme (ALExS) will be run according to the following principles:
- every student applying for the ALGANT Master Programme is allowed to apply for ALExS
- in his or her prior academic education, the applicant must have achieved excellent study results which are relevant for the programme for which the student wishes to enroll.
The ALGANT Excellence Scholarship programme has four types of awards: Gold covers the full tuition fee; Silver covers 75% of the tuition fee; Bronze covers 50% of the tuition fee; Ivory covers 25 % of the tuition fee.
