Scholarships for International Students
Master's Programmes in the School of Agro-Industry, Mae Fah Luang University
Academic Year 2014
Mae Fah Luang University will offer scholarships for
international students from Myanmar, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Cambodia and
Indonesia to study Master's Programme in Food Technology and in
Technology Management of Agricultural Produces for the 2014-2015
academic session. This is to empower individuals who have strong
academic backgrounds with specific competence in the field of
agro-industry and who could later contribute to the economic, social and
political development within the ASEAN
The scholarship provides
- Course tuition fees for two years for a Master's degree, and
- On campus accommodation for two years.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Myanmar, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Cambodia or Indonesia and have resided in that country for at least two years at the time of application.
- Applicant must not be married or engaged to be married to a person who holds Thai citizenship or permanent residence status.
- Applicant must not be over 35 years of age at the time of application.
Criteria
- Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential in the areas of food technology or in technology management of agricultural produces.
- Applicant must meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry and submit the result of one of the following English tests, which has been undertaken within two years of the date of application:
o Overall IELTS score of 5.0;
o TOEFLscore of 500 (paper based), 173 (computer based), 61 (internet based); or
o MFUTEP of 40 or equivalent.
Conditions
- Scholarship holders must commence study at Mae Fah Luang University by August 25,2014.
- Scholarship students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.25 (out of 4.00) every semester for the duration of their enrolment in the University.

- Mandatory documents that applicant need to supply;
o An original copy of the application form,
o Two two-inch photographs taken not more than six months from the date of application,
o A certified copy of academic transcript(s) for
undergraduate qualification(s) and the English translation of academic
transcript(s) if the official academic transcript(s) for
qualification(s) was not issued in English,
o A certified copy of degree certificate(s) and the
English translation of degree certificate(s) if the official degree
certificate(s) was not issued in English,
o Two reference letters (in English), and
o English translation of birth certificate or
national identification card or certified copy of passport showing date
of birth.
