JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 
Job Title: Counselor/ Core Group Member (one position)
(Based in Kampong Thom province)

Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO Cambodia - a local NGO) has been implementing Community Mental Health Programs in Cambodia since 1995 in order to respond to the needs of mental health care for people in communities.

With support from “Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit” (GIZ) TPO is currently implementing a project in Kampong Thom and Siem Reap aiming at improving access to mental health and justice for women. TPO is looking for a qualified Cambodian to fill the position of Counselor/Core Group Member (1 vacancy), based in Kampong Thom, TPO Office, with the following requirements:

Main Responsibilities:

• Support individuals, especially female survivors of gender based-violence, families and communities in coping with the psycho¬social problems connected to domestic violence.
• Provide supporting services to women in order to improve access to justice for them and their families and work closely with partner organizations and the Cambodian government.
• Liaise with local authorities and key community persons.
• Undertake awareness raising activities on psycho-social issues, particularly in the area of  domestic violence.
• Train key community persons in psycho-social interventions and offer them follow-up support and supervision.
• Provide training to teachers, health workers, NGO's, government staff and others on psycho-social issues related to gender-based violence .
• Participate in networking activities with partner NGOs, local institutions and organizations implementing community projects in the target areas .

Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor in Psychology; Social Work or equivalent degree.
• Good knowledge of human rights and gender issues.
• At least 2-3 year experience in community mental health work.
• Basic knowledge of mental health is an advantage.
• Experience in training psycho-social issues related to gender-based violence.
• Good team spirit; taking initiative and being creative.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to read and write English.
• Computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
