OVERVIEW
Working under head-to-head competitive and volatile environment or being in a group with members from diversified backgrounds – genders, ages, disciplines, cultures, and hierarchies – may sometimes, cause emotional distress, if and when there have no effective prevention and intervention mechanisms in place.
Stress at workplace could have the negative effects on employee performances, interpersonal relationship, and eventually, has the profound impact on organizational productivity. In addition, prolonged stress would deteriorate health, which would develop into stress related illnesses. It is generally recognized that to some extent, work absenteeism and resignations are seen as a result of unsolved stresses.
Having basic knowledge and skills to cope effectively with work stresses would not only help employees to achieve their growth potentials, but also to help the institutions to outperform the others.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of the course is to equip both employees and employers with the basic concepts and techniques of managing stress at workplace so they are able to cope with it in an effective fashion and to have initiatives to create a stress-free working environment.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS
The course is designed for employers and employees at all levels in the private sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). For those who are involved in managing workforces on a daily basis, are highly recommended to attend.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Upon the completion of this course, participants should be able to
- Clearly define and explain what is stress and an occupational stress
- Gain better understanding about effects of work stress on individual employees and organization including high absenteeism, high staff turnover, high accident rates, job dissatisfaction, and poor productivity
- Evaluate their own stress and its causes
- Find alternatives and applicable solutions to cope effectively with stress at work

Training methods applying in the course include PowerPoint presentations, brainstorming, group discussions, role plays and sharing individual actual experiences. Therefore, active involvements from all trainees are highly expected throughout the training.

- USD 110 per trainee. A 10 percent discount shall apply to any registration of three or over trainees.
