The ARI Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended for outstanding active
researchers from around the world, to work on an important piece of
research in the social sciences and humanities. The programme supports
promising early-career researchers from diverse disciplines, who have
demonstrated success in conducting high-quality research and are seeking
to further develop and broaden their expertise. Interdisciplinary
interests are encouraged. Up to three months of a 12-month fellowship
may be spent conducting fieldwork in the Asian region.
A majority of the ARI postdocs will join the family of researchers in the specific areas like Asian Migration, Asian Urbanisms, Changing Family in Asia, Cultural Studies in Asia, Religion and Globalisation in Asian Contexts, Science, Technology, and Society and Metacluster: Historical Sociology of Asian Connections. The other ARI postdocs with outstanding projects in any area outside of those listed above, may apply to join the Open cluster.

You will work under the supervision of the Cluster Leader and shall take the lead on duties such as organising workshops and conferences, applying for grant funding, participating in current cluster projects, or carrying out new projects. Administrative duties and committee work may be assigned to you from time to time. Please indicate in the application form if you are interested to teach and what you would be interested in teaching. Successful candidates may be offered a joint appointment with ARI and a Department in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).

- Interested applicants must have a PhD from a reputable university and with a publication record preferably in English Language.
- Only candidates with more than 5 years of research experience after their PhD may apply for the Senior Research Fellowship position.

ELIGIBILITY
- Candidates must have fulfilled all requirements of securing a PhD from a reputable university. .
- If you are still a PhD candidate at the point of application, you may also apply provided that you are confirmed for graduation by your commencement date at ARI. An official letter from the Registrar’s Office of your university will be required to confirm the award of your PhD degree.
